Newcastle Beach is another wonderful Bellevue city park. It's located on a dead-end street just south of the Newport Shores neighborhood. The park has a very large grassy area just up from the beach, and like most Bellevue parks, the grounds are well-maintained. Amenities include: reservable picnic areas, a children's play area, a dock, restrooms, and shallow and deep roped-off swim areas that can be entered from either the beach or steps down to the water. The bottom is firm silt with minimal rocks! I swam north from the park along the shore and was very surprised to note that the water was very shallow (I could see bottom) just about the whole distance. There is a large parking lot and paved walkways to the beach area.
