Notes:
A very large park converted from an old Naval Air Base. The park has walking/running paths, a boat launch, and off-leash dog area with water access, and other sports facilities. Some of the old buildings have been converted to residences, others to office/commercial use. The swim beach itself is quite large with a roped off shallow water area, restrooms, and a diving/sunning platform. The beach area and bottom consists of 2-4cm round rocks and is very hard to walk on. Once horizontal in the water there is no problem. The bottom sloped out very gradually so that there was a very extensive shallowish area which is very unusual for Lake Washington beaches. |
