Notes:
Barnabie Point is on the northeast corner of Mercer Island, almost directly under the I-90 east channel bridge, and next to a public boat launch ramp and the docking area for the Mercer Island police boats. Wow! A whole lot going on here. I approached via water from Fruitland Landing and had great views of Mercer Island waterfront houses one direction and the Beaux Artes community the other direction. The swim was a bit magical as it was a late summer morning and cool, threatening drizzle, and clouds of mist rising from the water surface. The point itself is yet another cable crossing and has a run-down dock plus underwater remnants of a yet older dock. I could turn around to face east and look directly across the channel to Enatai Beach. The bottom was soft silt, very comforting to my feet. |
